Video Mapping for the Orléans Cathedral

Gobelins, l'École de l'Image - April 2021

For a videomapping workshop at Gobelins, the class created clips to be projected on the facade of the Orléans cathedral during the summer of 2022.

 

The theme of the project was the various plants and gardens of the city, such as the Parc Floral de la Source. Guided by the butterfly greehouse and the luxurious vegetation of this parc, Zoé Landron and I depicted a nocturnal scene :

What if the flap of a butterfly’s wings set off a tornado in the greenhouse ?

For this animation, we were very inspired by insects and botanical representations made by various entomologists or biologists like Francis Hallé.
